Summer Fun In Austin Texas

Summer Fun In Austin Texas

Summers in Austin, Texas are long, hot, and full of unique things to do. When I landed it was 105 degrees, so here's how I had fun and stayed cool in Austin:

What I'm Wearing While Traveling

Knowing that I was traveling to a VERY hot place I made sure to wear a lightweight shirt and comfortable/stretchy bottoms.

I eventually made it to Austin, Texas and began my trip by going directly to my air-conditioned room!

What Activities I Chose

I made sure to plan lots of activities that included water during my 4th of July trip. The first water activity was zip-lining at Lake Travis Zip-line Adventures which is in Volente, Texas around 30 minutes outside of Austin. I was able to zip-line 6 times over the beautiful Lake Travis. After zip-lining they gave us full access to the lake, I could've stayed there forever.

The next water activity was at McKinney Falls State Park! You can enjoy beautifully shaded hikes, camping, swimming, mountain biking, and even a relaxing picnic. Don't forget to pack a blanket and bug spray (EVERYTHING IS BIGGER IN TEXAS). Make sure to stay hydrated with an easily transportable water bottle, the heat WILL catch up to you.

If you enjoy air-conditioned places and amazing art you have to check out Wonderspaces! It's 28,000 square foot location filled with lots of special art and lots of interactive spaces - great for all ages!

Places To Eat In Austin, TX

If you aren't much of an outdoors person make sure you go into Downtown Austin. It is filled with lots of fun shops, hole in the wall museums, good eateries, and the famous 1886 Cafe and Bakery!

Another popular eatery in Austin, TX is Loro. It is a perfect place for a group of friends or even a romantic partner to enjoy amazing BBQ and good conversation.
